Hastings Street runs from just past the Marine Building in the west to the entrance to Simon Fraser University in the east. In the early 1900’s, the section of Hastings in Old Vancouver was the shopping and entertainment district for Vancouver residents and visitors offering dining, dancing, music, live theatre, and horse-drawn carriage rides.

Today, the street is undergoing change with the preservation and restoration of some buildings, the reclamation and reuse of others, and the construction of new with new tenants like Centre A in old structures such as the old BC Electric Building at the historic heart of the city.
